The Nisqually Health and Wellness Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate ARNP to join our collaborative primary care team. This is true whether or not you have to register with another jurisdiction. This position has regular contact with or control over Indian Children and Vulnerable Adults. In compliance with Federal Law, this position will not be filled by an applicant with any felonious offense or any of two or more misdemeanor offenses under Federal, State, or Tribal law involving crimes of violence; sexual assault, molestation, exploitation, contact, or prostitution; crimes against persons; or offenses committed against children.GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing appropriate primary health care services to eligible patients at the Nisqually Tribal Health Clinic. The ARNP is responsible for performing wellness exams and supervising the Native Women's Wellness Program and its staff.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform. This list of responsibilities is intended to be representative of the duties performed within this classification. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic health conditions of men, women, and children. Take medical history, gather subjective and objective medical data. Perform physical examinations, review of systems and current health and prevention indicators to diagnose and treat per the current and appropriate standards of care. Perform excisions, biopsies, incision and drainage, laceration repairs, casting and additional minor office procedures in accordance with training. Develop and coordinate comprehensive plan of care for assigned patients and in accordance with training and education. Educate patients and perform age-appropriate preventive health measures such as vaccinations and cancer screenings. Manage acute, episodic, and chronic conditions occurring in assigned patients and refer patients when disease process exceeds education, training and/or experience. Perform phone, in-person, home visits and emergency triage activities. Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to medications and treatments. Order or perform and interpret results for laboratory, imaging and screening tests and other specialized tests such as ECGs and audiograms. Initiate and expedite appropriate specialist consultations and referrals. Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as necessary and appropriate for the treatment of patients. Provide direct counseling to patients and families on medical conditions and treatments. Document progress notes and summaries in the patient's medical record to include legible assessments, treatment plans, medications prescribed, instructions given to patients, and referrals. Maintain patient records with up-to-date lists, flow sheets and reminders. Execute necessary forms for billing, data entry or other reporting requirements utilizing the current Electronic Health Record system. Perform client education and outreach activities targeted at reaching all people eligible to receive services at the Nisqually Health Clinic. Perform women's wellness exams Participate in Native Women's Wellness Program and other grant services and activities; ensure accurate completion, tracking, and case management services for Native Women's wellness program enrollees. Participate in professional development and community awareness activities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington and 2-5 years of experience working in patient care. A comparable amount of education and experience may be considered. Must have current license to practice in Washington State without restrictions, and maintain current licensure at all times. Must have and maintain prescriptive authority. Must possess and maintain current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, depending on license requirements. Must have a valid Driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the Tribe's insurance policy.SUPERVISION
