Job Description

The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd (LCGS) located in Olympia, WA is recruiting for part-time (up to 4 hours per week) Nursery Staff to provide a safe, loving and fun Christian environment for the children of families attending the church during Sunday worship services and at other times, as requested.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Nursery Attendants supervise and play with children in the church nursery, create an inviting play space for children, and involve children in active games, songs and stories. They are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment and providing consistently caring, responsive service and respectful communications. The Nursery Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts; attendant scheduling, timekeeping and supervision; procuring supplies; and maintaining quality and safety.
Requirements:
Nursery Attendant:
Experience working with toddlers and young children. CPR and Basic First Aid If under 18: Parent/School Approval Form (F700-002-000 Parent/School Authorization) A passion and heart for working with small children. Ability to entertain and supervise/guide young children in active play. Personal maturity; ability to consistently present a caring and calm presence. Commitment to the well-being of children, and respect for children's bodily autonomy. Communication skills that allow for effective interactions with children, parents, and co-workers. Nursery Coordinator:
Age 18 or older A minimum of 1 year of related experience caring for young children Demonstrated ability to create and manage a schedule and facility space. Ability to lead and communicate effectively with nursery attendants. Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. Pay rates -

$17.13/hour,

$18-$20/hour
