Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated School Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) for the 2026/2027 school year. The school LVN will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of students within the educational setting. This position involves providing direct nursing care, managing health records, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and supporting a healthy and safe learning environment.
Responsibilities Direct Patient Care:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including administering medications, treatments, and first aid as needed.
- Monitor and assess the health status of students and promptly address any health concerns.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the overall well-being of students
- Perform medical procedures including but not limited to care for tracheotomy tubes and ties, NG tube feeding, gastronomy feeding, nasal cannula, syringe suctioning, seizure and diabetes management, and other procedures as defined by the physician
Health Record Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all students.
- Document health assessments, treatments, and other relevant information.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with health information privacy laws.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the school nurse, teachers, and administrators to address students' health needs.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings for students with special health considerations.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's health status and coordinate follow-up care as needed.
Medication Administration:
- Administer prescribed medications to students in accordance with school policies and protocols.
- Monitor and document medication administration, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medical orders.
Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies on school grounds.

Current LVN license in Washington Current CPR or BLS Certification One Year of experience as an LVN Experience working with children Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders. Knowledge of relevant health laws and regulations. Assisting in the toileting of students, frequently involves the cleaning of students, diapering, and the care of devices such as feeding tubes, urinary and colostomy bags.
