Job Description

Category Therapy - Skilled - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a contract position in Orting, WA, supporting students during the 2026-2027 school year. This role primarily serves elementary students, with some high school involvement, across three school sites. Working 35-38 hours per week, the SLP will provide individualized speech and language assessments, therapy, and consultation services aligned with IEP requirements under the supervision of the Director of Special Education.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct speech and language evaluations and deliver tailored therapy sessions. Collaborate with special education staff, families, and community partners. Support implementation of IEP-determined services at multiple school locations. Maintain positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues. Participate fully in all phases of special education processes, including early learning or atypical impairments when needed.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Washington state SLP license. Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families. Experience in assessment, evaluation, and consultation within school settings preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills, including active listening. Ability to foster a positive, engaging atmosphere using humor and lightheartedness. Knowledge of special education procedures and disability categories.
