Job Summary:
o Apex Spine Institute is looking for a Registered Nurse to work as an Overnight 23hr-Stay nurse in our Ambulatory Surgery Center. •
Days/Hours:
o
Every Tuesday:
1830-0700 o Opportunity for additional 2 Wednesdays/month possible •
Responsibilities:
o Care for patients after outpatient spine surgeries o Complete thorough medical history and medication reconciliation. o Confirm completion of consents and marking of surgical sites by physician o Answer patient questions about spinal injections and the surgery that was performed. o Establish and maintain patient IV sites; Administer IV medications according to Physicians Orders o Assess incision sites, monitor airway and hemodynamic status, assess blood glucose, and titrate oxygen as needed. o Make patient assessments and promptly report critical changes to supervising physician o Utilize aseptic technique to manage wound care and dressing changes. o Maintain accurate patient records & provide excellent discharge teaching to both patients and family members. •
Required Qualifications:
o 1+ years' experience as a PACU or floor nurse in a hospital o Ability to think critically o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment o Ability to delegate license-appropriate tasks and duties to a Medical Assistant o Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association o Valid and unencumbered license in WA State o Advanced knowledge of anesthesiology (Preferred) Apex Spine requires all new hires and employees to report their
