  • Freestanding Infusion has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse .
The Per Diem Registered Nurse will support two infusion sites, both located in North Seattle
WORK SCHEDULE
Per diem schedule / variable hours per week Must be available to work 10 hour day shifts (7:30am-6:00pm) Must be available to pick up shifts Monday-Friday and on weekends Must be available to work at two sites
  • UW Medical Center-Northwest and our Outpatient Medical Center (both in North Seattle)
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our ambulatory Freestanding Infusion Center s treat a broad range of conditions with chimeric monoclonal antibodies, anti-inflammatory tumor necrosis factor inhibiting agents, and other auto-immune biologics. Registered Nurses are responsible for administering outpatient infusion therapy.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Screens patients for infusions of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors and therapeutic treatments Administers medications, steroids, chemotherapy, and blood products Performs venipuncture and accesses implanted ports Places IVs and observes patients during infusions Disconnects IVs and monitors patients post-infusion Programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provides pump usage instructions to patients and caregivers Cleans pumps after each use and documents proper pump usage Calculates medication dosages for patients under the guidance and consultation of the patient's physician Follows OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents and biohazardous waste
REQUIREMENTS 2
years of recent infusion therapy nursing experience Strong IV placement and phlebotomy skills Advanced knowledge in IV therapy, IV administration, and peripheral IV or midline maintenance Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State Active
