ABOUT HL7N
We are a residential treatment center for youth with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, offering outpatient behavioral health and on-site medical services. Located on 55 peaceful acres, we provide a safe, supportive environment grounded in traditional, cultural, and spiritual values. Our holistic program blends Indigenous teachings with evidence-based practices to support healing, growth, and resilience in both Native and non-Native youth, fostering respect, honesty, generosity, and cultural identity.Schedule:
Sundays and half day MondaysPOSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Nurse plays a vital role in supporting adolescents aged 13-17 in a residential setting, combining clinical skills with compassionate care to address their physical, emotional, and cultural needs. Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, and health education, fostering a safe, supportive environment. Collaborating with medical, behavioral health, and SUD professionals, the nurse delivers comprehensive, evidence-based care respecting traditional values. Ideal for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, culturally sensitive settings and are dedicated to promoting lifelong wellness, helping youth understand their treatment, adopt healthy routines, and achieve personal goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including health histories and vital signs. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and safety. Monitor patient conditions, document changes, and report concerns promptly. Provide wound care, first aid, and basic emergency interventions. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; conduct routine point-of-care tests. Maintain infection control standards and ensure a clean, safe environment. Arrange and coordinate off-sitemedicalappointments. Communication appointments are neededtothe schedule so that theappropriate timeblocks are reserved, ensuring no conflicting appointments are made for the youth. Educate patients and families on medications, treatment plans, and preventive health practices. Offer support and counseling to promote patient well-being. Facilitate group education sessions on health-related topics (e.g., hygiene, CPR, wellness). Maintainaccurateandtimelymedical records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Ensure adherence to organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits. Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and checkingexpirationdates. Secure medications and medical supplies according to safety protocols. Track andmaintainmedical equipment and supplies for readiness. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure coverage and continuity of care. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program development. Performadditionalduties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must meet the minimum educational and experience requirements for the position and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant applications. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Associate Degree in Nursing, for Registered Nurse (RN) roles. Completion of a practical nursing program for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) roles. Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid. 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience. Proficiencyin electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications. Current, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Washington State. Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN orNCLEX-PN
).PREFERRED
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC™) 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience in adolescent health, behavioral health, or residential treatment settings. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and managing care for diverse populations.PHYSICAL DEMAND
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; bend, stoop, or crouch; lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; use hands to handle or feel objects and reach with arms; and communicate clearly and effectively in person and by phone. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is typically performed in an indoor, collaborative setting. The noise level is moderate, and interactions frequently involve communication and teamwork beyond basic work instructions.EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
For full-time employees (30+ hours per week), HL7N provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote health, well-being, and financial stability. These benefits reflect our commitment to supporting and valuing our team members. 100% medical, dental and vision insurance premium is paid by HL7N first of the month after 60 days of employment. Up to $6,000 health reimbursement annually via Navia Debit Card for eligible medical, dental, and vision expenses. $75,000 life insurance policy and disability benefits, 100% employer-paid after 90 days (FT EE). 22 days of paid time off (PTO) annually, plus 12 paid holidays and up to 8 sick days per year (after90 dayprobationary period). Employees are eligible for a Wellness Week after one year of employment. Employees are eligible for a 403(b) Retirement Plan with up to a 6% employer contribution after 12 months of employment, contingent upon working at least 1,000 hours.
