Job Description

Medical Professional This role is responsible for the evaluation of donors' eligibility for automated plasmapheresis procedures. This position includes the administration and supervision of approved immunizations in accordance with state regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role also provides limited emergency care as permitted by licensure or certification, training, and SOPs. Working knowledge of all operational areas within the plasma center is required. Additionally, the position ensures compliance with SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all relevant regulatory guidelines.
This Is What You'll Do:
Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP. Review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk). Classify donors into appropriate programs and monitor for adverse reactions, providing care as allowed by training and licensure. Consult with the center Licensed Physician regarding abnormal results, donor eligibility concerns, and immunization orders. Counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed. Maintain accurate documentation such as Physician Communication Logs and donor eligibility assessments. Train as a Donor Center Technician I and serve as a QA Backup when needed. Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer to support workforce development. Support center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with team members to ensure an efficient, donor-focused environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

This Is What It Takes:
RN:
Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related program.
Physician, LPN, or RN:
Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related program.
EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced/Paramedic:
Certification or license as an emergency medical technician, if allowable. One (1) year of experience in hospital, field care, or plasma center settings preferred. Ability to work day, evening, weekend, holiday, and extended shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to utilize all required and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five (35) pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel. Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens. Ability to view video display terminal less than 18" away from face for extended periods of time. Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of -40C or colder according to Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to perform precise tasks that require repetitive small motor skills, such as drawing blood for diagnostic tests. Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication. Ability to work day and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis and be punctual. Ability to use a computer and other office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to focus and concentrate on tasks for extended periods. Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable). Ability to travel up to 20% via airplane and vehicle (if applicable). •
