Local candidates only Overview We're looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to support a fast-paced Public Health Clinic in Tacoma. This role focuses heavily on opioid treatment program (OTP) support, triage, and direct patient care. You'll work alongside ARNPs and help lead MA and LPN staff to keep patient care running smoothly and safely. This is a great fit for someone who is confident, organized, and comfortable making clinical decisions in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments, including medical history, vital signs, and withdrawal scoring Triage walk-in patients based on symptoms, withdrawal severity, overdose risk, and medical needs Identify potential emergencies and prioritize care appropriately Communicate patient status and clinical impressions to ARNPs using SBAR format Perform advanced phlebotomy and administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections Respond to medical emergencies (e.g., unresponsive patients, altered mental status) using BLS skills and Narcan as appropriate Interpret and escalate critical lab results in a timely manner Collaborate with ARNPs to guide patient care and next steps Direct and delegate tasks to MA and LPN staff based on patient acuity and staff skill level Support clinic flow and maintain awareness of medication processes and protocols Qualifications Active Washington State RN license Comfortable in a medium
- to fast-paced clinical environment Strong clinical judgment and triage skills Experience with or knowledge of: Opioid withdrawal care (OTP experience a plus, not required) HIV and STI care Advanced phlebotomy skills Skilled in IM and subcutaneous injections Experience responding to medical emergencies and performing BLS interventions Familiarity with Narcan administration preferred Benefits Weekly pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) options Why This Role This is a hands-on, impactful opportunity to support public health efforts in your local community.

- Clinic/Wellness/Immunization works in a variety of either remote or clinic locations to serve a specific population's health and wellness needs.
The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments effectively and efficiently to provide quality appropriate care in accordance with facility's policies and protocols. These variety of sites include but are not limited to community or employment immunization clinics, wellness clinics, job safety and workers compensation sites and travel health clinics from pediatric to geriatric age populations.
Minimum Requirements:
