JOB DETAILS CLINICAL INTERVIEWING
~ Level II Trauma Center Level IV NICU Beds:
60 (21 Inpatient Holding; 2 Psych Rooms, 14 Hall Spaces) Avg 140-150 patients per day. Experience:
1 yr strong ED experience First-time traveler: No Patient Types:
Patient types from peds to geriatrics Trauma, GSW, sepsis, COVID, STEMI, Stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, Adult Psych, chest pain High acuity receiving facility Patient Ratios:
1:4 Can flex 1:5 if low acuity patient Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB, Traveler Competency Exam Skills Required:
General ED experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and basic ED knowledge of drips and med administration, procedural sedation, blood administration, cardiac medications Support on the Unit:
ER tech•glucose checks, assisting with splinting Charge nurse: rarely takes an assignment Resource/Float Nurse (pending staffing) RT•24/7 ED Educator Security for safety 24/7 House Supervisor 24/7 Pharmacy 24/7: assists in codes Charting System/Equipment:
EMR:
Epic IV Pumps:
Alaris Medication dispensing system: Pyxis Central and bedside Telemetry monitoring at the nursing station; no tele tech Floating:
None Orientation:
1st day: NEO (badge, EPIC training if needed), meet with educator 3-4, 12-hr shift with a preceptor (on assigned shift) Traveler Telemetry Competency Required Required to be completed and passed prior to start. SimpliFi Compliance is responsible for grading this exam. Scheduling:
If day/mid or night/mid•may switch during the contract, but would be the same shift for 6-week block Cannot guarantee block scheduling, but try to or make it staff friendly Weekend rotation•Every other Can we approve time off: Up to 5 days No on-call Holiday Expectations:
