1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Post-Partum/Mother Baby unit position requiring NRP certification and experience with newborn transition and postpartum Magnesium management. Details Acute care hospital setting in a dedicated Postpartum/Mother Baby unit Unit includes 32 postpartum beds, 11 L&D beds, 7 antepartum/high-risk beds, 3 triage beds, and 2 OR suites Approximately 4,000 births per year Common patient diagnoses include preeclampsia and hypertensive disorders, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiple gestations, advanced maternal age (AMA), and substance use disorders Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines RNs are required to titrate drips; Magnesium is the primary titratable drip EFM charting system:
Centricity Perinatal EMR:
Epic 12-hour night shifts; weekends and holidays required Low-census on-call required Floating to L&D for normal newborn transition is required CNAs are available on the unit OB hospitalist (OBHG) in-house 24/7; Neonatologist or NICU advanced practice provider available 24/7 Requirements Active WA state RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Required certifications (active, not pending): BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Experience with newborn transition and postpartum Magnesium management required COVID vaccination required Driver's license required for consideration Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Additional Information Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered In L&D, hospital-provided scrubs are worn; personal scrubs are permitted on the postpartum unit Unit-specific orientation is provided (12 orientation hours) 13-week contract with 12-hour night shifts
