1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PICU position at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience and ventilator/trach management skills. Details 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700) in a 16-bed PICU at a newly opened Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Mixed PICU unit serving neurological, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and medical pediatric patients Patient population includes respiratory patients (high flow, CPAP, BiPAP, trachs), oncology/chemo, RSV, asthma, MIS-C, new onset diabetes with insulin drips, congenital heart defects, and surgical cases (appys, g-tubes, ENT, VP shunts, bowel obstructions, broken bones, cardiac, neuro) Unit does not treat solid organ transplant, major burns, or stem cell transplant patients ECMO is managed by dedicated ECMO specialists; CRRT is performed using the Prismax machine and is low volume on the unit Floating may be required to Med/Surg or the ED in a Helping Hands or Constant Observer capacity Every other weekend rotation required Epic EMR — experience preferred Requirements Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required Current BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required Proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, g-tube/j-tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip management, and Foley insertion and management CRRT experience with Prismax preferred CICU experience preferred One supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, or Director) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start Additional Information Scrub color is open; hooded shirts and long sleeves are not permitted — sleeves must be able to be pulled above the elbow First-time travelers are welcome to apply Travelers with prior CRRT/Prismax experience may take CRRT assignments after training; due to low volume, these cases are more likely to go to core staff
