•Registered Nurse 3•Medical Transport Supervisor Join the team at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH) and become a champion for mental health in our community. We are hiring a Registered Nurse 3 (RN3) to oversee a team of Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) in the transport department. The RN3 will ensure that all medical appointments are scheduled promptly and that patients are escorted safely and respectfully. In this role, you will ensure compliance with nursing standards of care, hospital policies, and DSHS administrative guidelines while managing all medical transports. About OHBH Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health in Tukwila, Washington, is a 72-bed state-operated facility acquired by DSHS in 2023 to expand access to psychiatric care. Serving civilly committed patients, OHBH provides evidence-based treatment through a multidisciplinary team of psychiatric, nursing, rehabilitation, and social work professionals. With a focus on stabilization and recovery, OHBH helps patients manage mental health symptoms and prepare for a successful transition back into the community. Some of what you'll do: Supervise and support staff by applying your knowledge, skills, and leadership to facilitate positive change in diverse patient populations. Manage the transport department which is dedicated to booking medical appointments with outside clinics, transporting patients, and documenting each visit. Coordinate with all psych and medical providers insofar as referrals, orders and risk assessments are concerned. Coordinate with the nursing department in preparing the patients for their appointments. Coordinate with the security department in ensuring both the patient and staff escorting the patients safe and secure. Manage nursing staff assignments on patient care wards, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). Audit care delivery to maintain compliance with Nursing Standards and CMS conditions of participation. Participate in Treatment Team Huddle and Evaluation & Treatment Conferences (ETCs), advocating for nursing needs. Conduct patient assessment using the Daily Nursing Assessment Tool in Wellsky. Managing timecards of staff assigned. Evaluate performance of direct reports annually. Engage in hospital-wide initiatives by actively participating in committees, unit workgroups, and labor partner meetings. Communicate policy updates to ensure staff stays informed about changes in hospital policies and nursing care standards. Foster staff development and accountability by providing guidance and taking appropriate action per CBAs, hospital policies, and Nursing Standards of Care. Who should apply? Individuals who meet the following qualifications: Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington and graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. AND Two years of professional nursing experience. OR An equivalent combination education and/or experience. Must have a valid WA State Driver's License What we're looking for: Knowledge of supervisory and teaching techniques in healthcare. Expertise in professional nursing principles and specialized areas (e.g., mental health, infection control). Familiarity with community resources and medication reactions. Familiarity with case management experience. Ability to apply nursing principles and clinical judgment in patient care. Strong leadership skills to supervise, teach, and support staff development. Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with others.Additional information:
