This role is responsible for implementing the nursing process, ensuring care aligns with physician orders, and maintaining compliance with professional standards and school district policies. The RN works closely with the student, family, and school staff to support a safe and effective learning environment.

Student Profile:
High school student requiring 1:1 support Key Responsibilities Provide direct, individualized nursing care to a student throughout the school day Assist with all activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, transfers, and hygiene Perform intermittent straight catheterizations (scheduled and as needed) Monitor and manage medical needs including: G-tube medication administration (Quetiapine, Baclofen) Oral/nasal suctioning as needed Support feeding needs including pureed/blended diet Assist with mobility, including wheelchair use, Hoyer lift transfers, and frequent repositioning Manage incontinence care Support student during episodes of impaired communication or behavioral challenges Collaborate with school staff and assigned paraprofessional to support educational access Meet with family and student prior to start to establish routine and receive care training Maintain accurate care practices in line with physician orders and professional standards Minimum Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state Current CPR certification (if applicable) TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray as required) Current health certificate (per state or contract requirement) Minimum age of 18 years Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements Adherence to professional standards of nursing practice Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of school nursing experience Pediatric experience Additional Information Client interview required prior to placement No formal charting system utilized Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
