We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med Surg Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical setting, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in acute care nursing, with expertise in patient assessment, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This is a full-time, night shift opening for Med/Surg nurse with and without ER experience. 36 Hours weekly. Deliver direct patient care by performing physical examinations, vital sign monitoring, and comprehensive assessments to determine patient needs. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Monitor patients' conditions closely, recognizing signs of deterioration or complications such as acute pain or infectious disease symptoms. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient goals. Document all patient interactions thoroughly within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results. Provide patient education on medication management, post-discharge instructions, and health coaching tailored to individual needs. Requirements Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) required. Proven experience in medical-surgical units or acute care settings; ICU or Level I Trauma Center experience is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is advantageous. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to adult patient care. Experience with IV insertion, suturing, ventilator management, and aseptic techniques essential for this role. Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments accurately while demonstrating critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care settings; critical care experience preferred. Compassionate approach to working with diverse patient populations including those with developmental disabilities, memory care needs, or behavioral health challenges.
