Job Responsibility:

The RN Medical Surgical provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, post-operative care, monitoring patient conditions, and coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients Perform patient assessments (vitals, pain, labs, condition monitoring) Administer medications, IV fluids, antibiotics, and blood products as ordered Manage wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative care Monitor and manage IV lines, central lines, Foley catheters, drains Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients Educate patients and families on disease process, medications, and home care Coordinate care with physicians, case managers, PT/OT, and other departments Maintain accurate documentation in EMR (charting, care plans, progress notes) Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies Provide pain management and comfort care Required Qualifications Active RN License
