36 Hours/Week Position Overview The RN Oncology provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and supportive therapies, monitoring patient responses, managing treatment-related side effects, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients receiving cancer treatment Perform comprehensive patient assessments including vitals, symptoms, labs, and treatment response Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, IV medications, and supportive therapies as ordered Monitor and manage treatment side effects, adverse reactions, and oncologic emergencies Manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, and IV access devices Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and symptom management Coordinate care with oncologists, pharmacists, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain accurate EMR documentation including assessments, treatments, and patient progress Assist with admissions, discharges, and care transitions Provide pain management, emotional support, and end-of-life care when appropriate Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies Required Qualifications Active RN License BLS Certification Oncology nursing experience required EPIC experience preferredONS/ONCC
