We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care within a correctional healthcare setting. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating treatment plans, responding to medical emergencies, and serving as a patient advocate for an adult population with a wide range of acute and chronic healthcare needs. The RN functions as a care manager and patient navigator, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and timely care.
Schedule Monday through Friday Rotating AM/PM shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:30 PM Self-scheduling model Occasional weekends and holidays required What you will be doing: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. Provide skilled nursing care for patients with acute, chronic, complex, and long-term medical conditions. Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies. Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, mental health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team. Manage patient follow-up appointments, chronic disease management, and treatment plans. Serve as a patient care navigator, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient's treatment. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards. Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in the electronic health record. Educate patients on health conditions, medications, and treatment plans as appropriate. Ensure compliance with correctional healthcare policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements. Foster a safe, secure, and professional healthcare environment while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.
What you must have:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Current BLS/CPR certification. Previous correctional, emergency, medical-surgical, long-term care, or acute care nursing experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.
