As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse with cardiac focus, you'll care for high-acuity patients, including post-procedure cardiac, CHF, stroke, telemetry, and general med/surg cases, gaining insight into a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center designated unit. Exposure to diverse clinical practices, adaptable leadership, and the use of advanced charting systems like EPIC presents an outstanding opportunity to expand your professional capabilities and resume.
Schedule/Hours:
Weekend rotations: every 3rd weekend
Holidays:
1 summer, 1 winter (flexibility—choose between Christmas or New Year's)
Floating:
May rotate to other med/surg areas No mandatory on-call; occasional low census (primarily nights, 4-hour increments) 1-2 shift orientation for seamless integration
Qualifications:
Active RN license with at least 2 years' recent Med/Surg experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Competent in reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips Familiarity with cardiac drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem), sheath management, pre/post cardiac cath experience, and chest tube care Proficient with EPIC and telemetry units
Duties:
Independently manage patient care on a 1:4-5 ratio (Days), 1:5 (Nights) Shared responsibility for blood draws Collaborate with interdisciplinary support:
RT, OT, PT, 24/7
hospitalist Charting within EPIC, medication administration via Alaris and Pyxis systems
