1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Med-Surg House Supervisor unit position requiring Epic proficiency and at least 1-2 years of RN Telemetry experience. Details Work in a 277-bed hospital that is a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center Position is based in the House Supervisors unit, serving all Med/Surg patient types Average patient ratio is up to 6 patients per nurse, depending on staffing Common skills required include tracheostomy care, chest tubes, cardiac rhythm strip interpretation, and management of drips including Lasix, Insulin, and Heparin, as well as wound vacs Telemetry monitoring is centralized with a dedicated telemetry tech EMR is Epic (experience required); IV pumps are Alaris; medication dispensing via Pyxis 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three shifts per week (36 hours/week) Every other weekend rotation required No on-call or call-back requirements Floating to any Med/Surg inpatient unit is required, with assignments directed by the House Supervisor Schedule runs on a 6-week cycle Requirements Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred Minimum 1-2 years of RN Telemetry and/or Med/Surg experience required, with most recent experience within the last year Proficiency with Epic EMR required General Med/Surg skillset including tracheostomy care, chest tubes, cardiac rhythm strip interpretation, and IV drip management Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Additional Information Department support includes CNAs/Techs, HUCs, RNs, Rapid Response Team, Phlebotomy, and a Charge Nurse Orientation consists of 1 shift Holiday coverage required for 2 major and 2 minor holidays within the contract period Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved, with a contract extension to accommodate Scrub color must be any solid color with no logos; parking is free Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible First-time travelers are welcome to apply
