This travel assignment provides the exceptional opportunity to work within a 32-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit, gaining invaluable experience with adult and geriatric populations. Engage with a variety of postoperative and medical cases, particularly surgical, orthopedics, and urology—expanding your clinical scope and bolstering your resume with new competencies and leadership skills. Exposure to diverse practices, remote telemetry monitoring, and the potential to serve as a Charge Nurse will foster both personal and professional development.
Schedule/Hours:
6:45 am - 7:15 pm or 6:45 pm - 7:15 am Block scheduling permitted based on unit needs and personal requests Every other weekend required; rotation set to weekends 1 and 3 or 2 and 4
Qualifications:
Active RN license BLS and ACLS certifications required Prior travel nursing experience necessary Experience with care of post-op/medical patients; orthopedic specialty preferred Proficiency in titrating drips; Heparin protocol experience required, cardiac drip experience preferred
Responsibilities:
Assess and manage adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical, surgical, and orthopedic conditions Monitor and titrate Heparin and other drips according to protocols Utilize and manage RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and IV pumps Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including remote tele/monitor techs and nurse aids Fulfill Charge Nurse duties as needed, with opportunities for cross-training
