The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of acute patient care, demonstrate proficiency in various clinical procedures, and exhibit a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered services. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care, coordinating treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Responsibilities Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories, to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments accurately, including injections, IV infusions, and medication management, adhering strictly to safety protocols. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information, medical records, and treatment progress efficiently. Monitor patients' conditions continuously, respond promptly to acute changes, and implement appropriate interventions for pain management, airway management, or other emergent needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, and case managers—to coordinate comprehensive care delivery across inpatient settings. Maintain sterile techniques during procedures such as suturing or specimen collection while ensuring infection control standards are upheld. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health maintenance strategies tailored to individual needs such as geriatrics or pediatric populations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all medical documentation and patient information. Requirements Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of practice with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are preferred. Demonstrated experience in medical-surgical units with proficiency in acute care procedures including IV insertion, catheterization, tube feeding management, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient record management. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to inpatient care settings. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs. Ability to perform complex clinical tasks such as trauma medicine procedures (Level I/II trauma center experience preferred), ICU experience, or emergency medicine skills is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills coupled with critical thinking abilities to assess patient needs effectively and respond swiftly during emergencies. Prior experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics involving urgent care or specialty areas such as ophthalmology or infectious disease is advantageous.
