Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Physician Office provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role is responsible for assessment, triage, coordination of care, administration of medications and treatments, patient education, and support of clinic workflow in collaboration with providers and the care team. The RN ensures safe, evidence-based practice, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience while maintaining compliance with physician orders, clinic policies, and regulatory standards. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing Current RN license in Wyoming BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire 1. Perform patient intake and assessment, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, health history, and reason for visit. 2. Triage patient concerns in person and by phone, following established protocols and consulting providers as needed. 3. Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments as ordered by the provider, monitoring for adverse reactions. 4. Assist with minor office procedures, diagnostic tests, and point-of-care testing, ensuring proper preparation and patient support. 5. Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, treatments, follow-up care, and health promotion, reinforcing provider instructions. 6. Coordinate care by arranging referrals, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments, and communicating with other departments or agencies as appropriate. 7. Document assessments, nursing interventions, patient responses, and provider communications accurately and timely in the EHR. 8. Support clinic flow by rooming patients efficiently, preparing exam rooms, and assisting providers to optimize visit efficiency and patient throughput. 9. Maintain compliance with infection control practices, medication safety, regulatory standards, and clinic policies and procedures. 10. Participate in quality improvement, population health, and patient safety initiatives as assigned. 11. Behave and dress in a professional and courteous manner consistent with the facilities Standards of Behavior. 12. Other duties may be assigned.
