Pay Information:
Internal Hires:
Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires:
This position starts at $21.59 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
Job Summary:
The Patient Safety Assistant (PSA) provides continuous monitoring of patients who are confused, disoriented, or at risk of self-harm, ensuring their safety under the direction of nursing leadership. The role includes both in-person and virtual observation, requiring constant attention and effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff. The Observer promptly reports any changes in patient condition while maintaining appropriate coverage at all times. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to document accurately to support safe, coordinated patient care. Minimum Qualifications for the

Preferred Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
Healthcare or patient care experience preferred License(s): None Certification(s): TEAM and BLS within three (3) months of hire Other Requirement(s): Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing; candidates for whom English is a second language (ESL) must successfully pass an English proficiency assessment.
