Job Description

Schedule/Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week) This position is responsible for: First point of contact for all treatment programs at The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama. Answers questions about programs offered to inquiries via phone, email, walk-in, etc. Screens candidates to determine program eligibility. Maintain relationships with partner agencies and helps program maintain operation at acceptable capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts initial interviews/screenings for treatment through various means to determine applicants' eligibility to enter residential treatment. Schedules appointments for official screenings by Assessment Specialist for internal placement or external referral. Maintains waiting lists of those suitable for treatment but waiting for bed space Processes admitted applicants by obtaining necessary paperwork and signatures, orienting them to program attendance requirements, and inputs client information into computer during admissions. Takes photo to create badge.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief periods of standing or walking. Work requires performance of duties in front-line social service environment

QSAP III
preferred; AND Two years progressively responsible experiences performing clerical work as well as experience performing social services or public assistance work OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
