We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Lead Referral Coordinator to oversee the referral management process within our healthcare organization. Preferably RN with hospice admissions and intake experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical office operations, insurance verification, and medical coding, with a focus on managed care and compliance standards such as HIPAA. As the Lead Referral Coordinator, you will coordinate patient referrals, ensure accurate documentation and follow up, and facilitate seamless communication between providers, insurance companies, and patients to optimize care delivery and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Coordinate timely response to referrals and facilitate admissions process. Manage the entire referral process from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and accurate submission of referrals for various specialties. Verify insurance coverage and benefits using managed care protocols to confirm patient eligibility and authorization requirements. Maintain comprehensive medical records related to referrals, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality and data security. Collaborate with medical offices, specialists, and insurance providers to facilitate authorization approvals and resolve any discrepancies or delays. Train and supervise staff members involved in referral coordination to promote best practices in office experience and medical records management. Monitor workflow efficiency, identify areas for process improvement, and implement strategies to enhance overall referral management operations. Qualifications RN with Hospice Admissions and intake experience. Provide daily guidance and support to referral coordinators and intake staff. Monitor workflow and assign tasks to ensure efficient referral processing. Proven experience in a medical office setting with familiarity in medical terminology, medical records management, and office procedures. Strong knowledge of managed care processes, insurance verification protocols, and healthcare billing practices. Experience with HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security Previous hospice referral experience required; experience in medical office environments is highly valued. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for liaising with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate smooth referral workflows.
