Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing coverage in a physician clinical practice. Duties include patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, medical records management, and telephone reception. The role also performs various medical office administrative functions and requires travel to other clinic sites as needed. Patient Check In Must be compassionate, attentive and professional during interactions with our patients, providers and co-workers. Maintains composure in difficult situations utilizing customer service skills. Collect copays Check in patients Helps to update patient demographics. Inform financial counselor of any insurance changes Scheduler Completes patient check-out Obtains pertinent patient data, pre-certifications and insurance authorization to schedule imaging studies, diagnostic tests or outside referrals Coordinates scheduling of tests/procedures with patients and informs patients of special instructions prior to appointment/procedure Works directly with the provider and serves as the point person when the provider needs to contact a referring physician, specialist, patient, hospitalist, lab, etc. Medical Records This position updates, maintains, and reviews each patient's chart to make sure that the charts have all the current information. Works Medical records inbox and routes documents to the patient chart and tasks to the appropriate team member. This position verifies that patients' chart is completed prior to visit with provider. New Patient Scheduler Access New Patient Inbox Schedule New Patients according to site requirement Review information to ensure all required documents are received from referring providers. Telephone Operator Professionally answer and process incoming telephone calls timely and accurately Scheduling, changing, or canceling patient appointments according to physician protocols. Route calls to the appropriate members of the ABCS team Task information to team members
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Prefer at least 3 years' medical office experience, preferably in a hematology, medical oncology, radiation practice Familiar with medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment while providing positive interactions with patients and outside entities A division of One Oncology, we are an equal opportunity employer, and we believe in strength through diversity.
