Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Specialist to support a busy oncology healthcare environment. This role is responsible for obtaining and reviewing prior authorizations, verifying insurance benefits, and ensuring patients have timely access to care.

Pay:
$27-$31/hr
Schedule:
Full-Time | Onsite Contract (6 months, possibility to extend) Responsibilities Submit and manage prior authorizations for oncology services and procedures. Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage requirements. Review referrals, medical documentation, and payer requirements for authorization approvals. Utilize insurance payer portals to review authorization status and benefit information. Document authorization and insurance information accurately within Epic EMR. Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding authorization status and coverage. Resolve authorization issues, denials, and insurance discrepancies as needed. Maintain accurate records and support compliance with departmental policies and payer guidelines. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Patient Access, Insurance Verification, Financial Clearance, or Prior Authorizations. Recent experience using Epic EMR . Strong background submitting and reviewing authorizations within an oncology or cancer hospital setting . Experience with insurance and benefit verification. Experience working with major insurance payer web portals. Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
