Job Description

Overview Hycare Inc. is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Admissions Coordinator for one of our nursing homes in Berkely, CA. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for prospective patients, guiding them through the admissions process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your proactive approach will ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for all visitors while supporting the administrative operations of our Healthcare facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care and organizational efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Build and maintain strategic networks with hospital case managers, social workers, and local healthcare professionals to secure patient referrals. Act as the primary liaison between the facility, hospital discharge planners, and insurance providers. Verify Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurance benefits and process authorizations. Maintain accurate records of patient admissions, updates, and discharge information using medical administrative support systems. Conduct facility tours, explain facility policies, and ensure families understand their rights and the admissions contract. Coordinate with nursing staff, social services, and the billing department to prepare rooms and ensure a smooth transition upon arrival. Work with administration to maintain target occupancy rates. Skills Proven experience working in a healthcare or nursing home setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret patient records and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment. Proficiency in medical administrative support tools such as Point click Care. Effective communication skills to explain complex information clearly and empathetically to patients. Pay:
$29.00 - $34.00 per hour
