Requirements:
2+ years experience in medical registration, specifically oncology outpatient registration Experience as a registrar in an EPIC environment Experience with insurance verification, eligibility, and coordination of benefits Experience with prior authorization submission and follow-up Ability to document accurately in the electronic medical record Knowledge of revenue cycle workflows in a patient-facing setting Ability to meet turnaround standards and manage high-volume work
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in a comprehensive cancer center or oncology specialty clinic Experience supporting Medical Oncology or Gynecological Oncology departments Experience working in a hospital-based outpatient setting Familiarity with Patient Access workflows and scheduling processes Proficiency in revenue cycle compliance and denial prevention Summary /
Duties:
The Authorization Coordinator II provides registrar coverage within the Alta Bates Summit Comprehensive Cancer Center during a temporary leave. This onsite, patient-facing role supports oncology outpatient operations by performing medical registration, insurance verification, coordination of benefits, and prior authorization activities in EPIC. The coordinator ensures accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, confirms coverage, and determines authorization requirements prior to services. Responsibilities include obtaining and tracking authorizations, supporting patient access, and preventing revenue cycle disruptions. The role is critical to maintaining continuity of care, minimizing claim denials, and meeting turnaround standards in a high-volume oncology environment.
Pay:
$25.00 per hour
