At SCMC, we are committed to serving patients and our community during challenging times. We provide high-quality medical care to all patients—whether they are financing medical care, have no insurance, or are seeking affordable options they can trust. From general care to prevention and recovery, our mission is to ensure underserved communities have access to the best possible healthcare. In this role, you will be an essential point of contact for patients and their families. You will provide direct assistance, answer inquiries, schedule and follow up on appointments, review prescriptions, and support the Site Manager in ensuring an excellent patient experience. You'll also assist with patient education, maintain accurate records, and help improve processes to make care more accessible and efficient.
Responsibilities include:
Using the EHR system for scheduling, registration, and documentation Serving as the primary point for patient feedback and complaint resolution Communicating effectively with staff to address patient needs Contacting patients who miss scheduled appointments Notifying patients of lab results as directed by clinical staff Reviewing patient charts and preparing information for physicians Supporting clinical duties, including triage, administering vaccines/medications, performing lab tests, and maintaining medical records (as applicable) Assisting with process improvements to enhance the patient experience Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School diploma required; Associate degree or Medical Assistant Training certificate preferred Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Ability to stay calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment Typing speed of at least 40 WPM; proficiency in Word, spreadsheets, and medical database systems Bilingual in English and Spanish or Farsi preferred Why Join SCMC?
