Do you want to help people see better, look better, and feel better? We are seeking a Patient Services Representative to join our front desk team! The Patient Services Representative is responsible for accurate completion of patient accounts. This includes tasks such as greeting patients, posting payments, updating patient demographics and insurance information, and taking phone calls. The Representative must also ensure that all insurance requirements are met and that the patients are aware of their financial responsibilities.

Our team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and professional support staff handle all aspects of eye/vision care, from general exams to complex surgeries. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about providing excellent care to our patients while treating fellow coworkers with dignity and respect.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner Responds to patient requests for forms and medical records requests Triages walk-ins and schedule as applicable Ensures insurance has been verified Collects outstanding balances and new balances Posts payments to practice management system and balances daily Acquires estimates and quotes from coding staff for uninsured patients Makes appointments for return visits as applicable Prints and obtains signatures for all applicable forms Updates patient demographics as applicable Schedules return appointments and issues appointment cards Assists patients with questions about their insurances, appointments, and balances
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday FT and may include occasional Saturday half-days (shift start times could range from 7:00-8:00am)

Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bilingual in Spanish Exceptional customer service and communication skills Ability to use or learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, internet, e-mail, and NextGen Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED Six-months to one-year related experience and/or technical school training Minimum two years of clerical or customer service experience (medical setting preferred)
