The Patient Service Representative I (PSR I) plays a vital role in facilitating patient care. This role primarily involves answering telephones, taking accurate messages, scheduling patient appointments, and managing patient referrals. The Patient Service Representative I demonstrate professionalism and productivity while maintaining a positive interaction with our patients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in patient check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completed and signed. Collects copayments and verifies insurance eligibility with an understanding of basic healthcare insurance benefits. Updates patient demographic and insurance information in the CS-Link system accurately and timely. Schedules and coordinates patient appointments under supervision. Assists in managing physician schedules, handling patient/provider correspondence as directed. Provides general administrative support, including answering phones, routing calls, and managing medical records. Coordinates and manages patient referrals and authorizations, ensuring that patient interactions comply with healthcare regulatory standards and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's best practices. Contributes to maintaining a clean and safe environment in the reception and waiting areas. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED•Required. At least 6 months experience working with insurance companies and obtaining authorizations•Preferred.Qualifications:
