Job Description:
Position Summary Under the leadership of the department office supervisor, the unit receptionist (UR) performs duties related to scheduling and pre-registration for upcoming services to assure a smooth process for the patient. Duties include reviewing orders from physicians and assuring therapy is scheduled accordingly; providing clear and accurate instructions/information to patients regarding upcoming appointments; verifying insurance type and assuring required authorizations are in place for worker's compensation and state and county programs; entering complete and accurate data utilizing computer technology while ensuring existing data is accurate; and ensuring that therapist/physician schedules are as full and compactly scheduled as possible. Experience At least 1-year clerical experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting (scheduling, answering phones, typing, filing). Basic understanding of insurance requirements. Knowledge and experience with medical terminology. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Excellent communication skills. Ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor in a demanding environment. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to quickly comprehend new techniques and concepts and adapt readily to change. Education High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field. Assigned Work Hours:
Various hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday-Friday Position Type:
Per Diem Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $35.36 to $47.32 The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
Hourly Evening Shift Differential:
$2.01
Hourly Night Shift Differential:
$2.95
