In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing front desk operations. Your expertise in medical administrative support, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic health record (EHR) systems will be essential to providing exceptional patient service and maintaining smooth clinic operations. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures Schedule appointments accurately using various EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks to facilitate smooth billing processes Collect patient information and update medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary Assist with documentation review, including reviewing care plans, medical histories, and billing information for accuracy Perform medical billing tasks such as CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and processing payments or collections related to medical services Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive health information Support administrative tasks including data entry, typing reports, managing office supplies, and handling correspondence Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate patient flow and ensure timely appointment scheduling Utilize office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for appointment management and record keeping Conduct insurance verification procedures to confirm patient coverage prior to services rendered Assist with intake procedures for new patients and follow-up appointments as needed Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role within a clinic or dental office setting Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding systems, CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills including typing at least 10-key speed Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security compliance Ability to review documentation accurately and support medical billing processes effectively Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks Experience working in a healthcare environment such as clinics or dental offices is preferred Exceptional customer service skills coupled with professional communication abilities Join our team and be part of a dedicated healthcare environment where your organizational talents make a real difference!
