REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience in healthcare customer service preferred. 2. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. 3. Computer skills 4. Strong knowledge of reimbursement 5. Good physical and mental health 6. Medical terminology preferred
REPORTING
The Admissions Coordinator reports to the Administrator.
JOB DUTIES
1. Assist in the development and implementation of facility marketing plans. 2. Work as a direct contact between the facility and hospital discharge planners. 3. Makes calls to referral sources. 4. Develop the relationships necessary to identify unmet health care needs in the community, and work with the administrator to access the facilities ability to meet those needs. 5. Complete necessary paperwork to assure appropriate admissions to the facility. 6. Serves as a team leader at facility admission and census meetings. 7. Order and maintain adequate supply of marketing materials and assure that necessary information packets are available. 8. Complete daily census report. 9. Complete monthly/quarterly reports as directed. 10. Receives inquiries from hospitals and community. 11.
Screens for possible admissions:
a. Establishes payor source b. Seeks authorization as needed c. Determines Medicare eligibility d. Screens by LOC to determine placement 12. Processes admissions a. Notifies nursing and appropriate staff of admission b. Makes resident Identification bracelets c. Provides chart to the appropriate nurse station d. Completes admission contract with resident or responsible party. 13. Maintains Public Relations with referral sources. 14. Maintains post-admit and on-going internal public relations with residents and families. 15. Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
