Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS), to lead our clinical team and oversee all patient care services. As our DPCS, you will serve as the backbone of our clinical operations, acting as a liaison between the Administrator, Medical Director, IDT, clinical staff, patients, and families. You will be responsible for the overall clinical management of the hospice program, ensuring exceptional care delivery and strict adherence to CMS/State regulations and the Joint Commission Standards. Responsibilities Lead and supervise nursing staff, including clinical managers, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, hospice aides, and other direct care personnel, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered hospice care in accordance with agency policies and all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards. Direct and oversee all patient care services in accordance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, California hospice regulations, and organizational policies. Collaborate with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care. Oversee patient admissions, care planning, clinical documentation, quality assurance, and performance improvement activities. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation requirements and maintain survey readiness. Recruit, mentor, coach, and evaluate clinical staff while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics, implementing corrective actions and process improvements as needed. Participate in leadership on call responsibilities and provide clinical guidance and support to staff. Qualifications Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Bachelor's degree (BSN) in Nursing or higher (preferred) Minimum of two years of DPCS/hospice management or supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation, California hospice regulations, and hospice clinical operations. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills. Team building experience and a positive personality with good energy. Experience leading interdisciplinary clinical teams. Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance. Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
