Job Description

Patient Services Specialist Location:
Pasadena, CA Pay:
$21-23/hour Work Environment Busy outpatient physical therapy clinic with a high-volume, patient-facing front desk. Business casual dress code. Fully on-site role. Schedule 5 days/week rotating schedule: 2 days: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; 3 days: 9:00 AM - 6:00

$21-23/hour
Duration:

  • Time Off / Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) About the Role We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Patient Services Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for patients in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, supporting patient scheduling, verifying insurance, and ensuring a positive patient experience from check-in through check-out. Key Responsibilities Greet patients warmly with professionalism and positive communication; Register new patients and guide them through onboarding paperwork; Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations; Collect co-pays and manage financial interactions; Schedule, confirm, and follow up on patient appointments; Answer phones, manage voicemails, and address patient inquiries; Maintain accurate patient demographics in EMR systems; Support end-of-day reconciliation and ensure accurate charge entry; Deliver excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 1+ year of experience in a medical front desk or healthcare setting; Experience with insurance verification and authorization processes; Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment; Excellent communication and customer service skills; Strong computer proficiency and comfort working in EMR systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
