Job Description

Position Title Registration Clerk with Medical Assistant Support Experience Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, organized, and patient-focused Registration Clerk to join our medical clinic team. This role is primarily responsible for front office registration duties, including patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will also have a background as a Medical Assistant and willing to provide limited clinical support when needed. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position may provide opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the medical field. Willing to train the right candidate as a medical assistant.
Full Benefits Wage Range:
$21 - $27 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Registration Clerk Responsibilities (Primary) Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately Collect co-pays, balances, and required documentation Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Scan, file, and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with clinical staff Resolve patient concerns and provide excellent customer service Medical Assistant Responsibilities (Secondary) Assist clinical staff with basic patient care duties as needed Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and supplies Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient information Assist providers during examinations and procedures when necessary Administer injections, medications, or perform basic lab procedures if certified and authorized Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Medical Assistant certification or training preferred Minimum 1-2 years of medical office or healthcare experience preferred Experience with EMR systems and insurance verification Knowledge of medical terminology and front office procedures Strong computer and multitasking skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times Preferred Skills Bilingual abilities are a plus Experience in a busy clinic or outpatient setting Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and medical billing processes Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally Manual dexterity for computer and clinical tasks
