In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patient referrals, ensuring seamless communication between providers, insurance companies, and patients. Your expertise will help facilitate efficient referral processes, verify insurance coverage, and manage medical records with precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to improved patient care coordination while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Duties Coordinate and process patient referrals between healthcare providers, specialists, and insurance companies to ensure timely appointments and services Verify insurance coverage and benefits using managed care protocols to confirm patient eligibility and authorization requirements Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of referrals, authorizations, and related correspondence in compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize medical terminology and coding systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to accurately document procedures and diagnoses Communicate effectively with patients regarding referral status, appointment scheduling, and necessary documentation Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure all referral-related paperwork is complete and compliant with insurance guidelines Assist in insurance verification processes to confirm coverage details before scheduling appointments or procedures Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably with referral coordination responsibilities Strong knowledge of managed care processes, insurance verification procedures, and HIPAA compliance standards Familiarity with medical coding systems including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding practices Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Proficient in handling medical records and maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations Experience with dental office operations is a plus but not required Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, providers, and insurance representatives Join us in making a difference by streamlining healthcare referrals that improve patient outcomes!
