Job Description

A large healthcare organization located in the San Fernando Valley is seeking an experienced Patient Account Representative for an immediate opening. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with 2+ years of experience in medical billing, collections, or patient account management.

The Patient Account Representative will be responsible for managing patient accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, processing payments, and collaborating with patients, insurance providers, and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely account resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and manage patient accounts to ensure accurate billing and timely follow-up
  • Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and hospital departments regarding claim status, payment issues, and account discrepancies
  • Process payments, adjustments, refunds, and account updates in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve denied, underpaid, and unpaid claims
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and explanations of financial responsibility
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of account activity within billing and hospital systems
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, hospital policies, and applicable billing guidelines
  • Support month-end reporting and account reconciliation activities as needed
