PATIENT ACCESS REP II
- $21.79 to $30.51
Job Summary:
The PAS II is responsible for pre-registration of patient accounts, preparing patient accounts for billing, verifying third party insurance and patient demographic information, estimating and informing patients of estimated liability. Communicates with internal and external pharmacies as well as physician offices to provide and receive patient information. In addition, working in any other services that may relate to the registration of patients and have knowledge of all areas regarding registration.
Licensure and Certification:
Medical Assistant or CNA certificate preferred
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Experience:
Two years minimum in hospital or other health care setting such as a medical office or insurance billing.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of third party reimbursement especially
HMO/ PPO.
Knowledge of ICD10, CPT and J codes Basic medical terminology. Customer service skills Computers Physical Demands -
Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:
Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change. Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level. Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level. Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing. Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties. Key for Physical Demands Continuous 66 to 100% of the time Frequent 33 to 65% of the time Occasional 0 to 32% of the time
