Patient Registration Representative

Schedule - 32 hours a week - 4 days a week with rotating weekends start time at 2:30pm Job Summary The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing a positive first impression for patients and visitors by delivering exceptional customer service during the registration and check-in process. This role ensures accurate patient information, verifies insurance coverage, explains required documentation, and supports the admissions workflow in a fast‑paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors and complete the patient check‑in and registration process Accurately enter and update patient demographic information in the system Verify patient and visitor identity by collecting required information and photo ID Determine payment options, including identifying patients who can pay out‑of‑pocket or require financial assistance Explain consent forms and obtain required patient signatures Prepare and distribute admissions and registration paperwork Verify insurance coverage and ensure accuracy of insurance information Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies Required Skills Strong customer service skills Knowledge of medical terminology Top Skills Customer service Medical terminology Additional Skills & Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience Level Expert level experience in patient access, registration, or a similar healthcare front office role Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
