Job Description

We are a high volume out patient imaging center in search of an experienced medical receptionist. Applicant must be available to work 8 hours a day Monday through Friday, and an occasional Saturday or Sunday, anytime between 06:30 am to 6:30 pm. Under the direction of the Clerical Manager, provides services to patients and referring professionals by answering phones, cheerfully greeting and registering patients and performing other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates a positive experience for every patient, every day. Checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans. Answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner. Fields calls appropriately for center associates. Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, and assisting with general office clean up. Faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested.
Scheduling & Insurance:
Schedules patients and enters orders. Accurately maintains patient records within radiology information system. Checks all exams for pre-certification with patient's insurance company. Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment. Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED
Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols. Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines. Knowledge of basic level computer skills. Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion. Skill in written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines. Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change. Ability to effectively handle details with accuracy. Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time arrival to work as scheduled. Ability to deliver high quality customer service to internal and external customers by communicating with integrity and compassion.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 2 years medical office experience. 1-2 years customer service experience. Proficient with using computer systems and typing
Bilingual- Spanish Preferred:
Medical terminology and office background
