Job Description

Description:
The Patient Services Representative functions as a member of the patient care team. The position performs clinical tasks and procedures to support the delivery of care and to promote efficient use of the physician's time as well as performs all clerical duties required to complete patient Check-in/Check-out. The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients obtain services in a timely manner and assuring efficient utilization of the physician's appointment schedule and in the coordination of patient care. This position administers and coordinates referrals and service authorization process, rooming duties and performs other clinic front desk activities. Duties and Responsibilities Complete initial intake and follow-up calls with patients via inbound and outbound calls/dialer to include identifying and resolving patient concerns within the process or product. Processes requests for prescription refills according to established practice. Promptly and accurately reports and refers patient's concerns and symptoms, reactions, changes (appropriate to age) to licensed clinic personnel. Schedules and edits and maintains patient physician appointments for new and returning patients, using the scheduling system. Effectively responds to inquiries from patients, their relatives and/or referring physicians on services and provides accurate information in a timely fashion. Acts as a patient advocate, coordinator and liaison for Bay Area Foot Care in dealing with the community. Acts as non-clinical liaison/concierge/navigator for the referred patients in any way the patient needs before, during or after an encounter with Bay Area Foot Care. Clerical Duties Meet or exceed monthly departmental goals as established by Ops management. Adhere to phone activity/compliance standards to include, HIPAA, ACW, and minimum call volume
Requirements:
Knowledge of clinical staffing, office organization operations and functions use of computer word processing and database applications Excellent communication skills by telephone in person and in writing Ability to multitask and maintain records and information Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient Information Education and Experience Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent Associate degree or equivalent preferred 1+ year of customer service experience 1+ year of medical office experience preferred Fluent Spanish Speaking About Balance Health Balance Health empowers people to live full lives by helping them improve and maintain mobility.
