Position Summary:
The Patient Access Representative plays a key role in creating a welcoming environment for patients and ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and supporting patients with check-in and check-out processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner Educate the patient regarding procedure prep, insurance requirements and billing Obtain copies of insurance cards and verify insurance eligibility Collect and post payments, co-pays, and deductibles Assist patients with new patient paperwork and answer general inquiries Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic information Coordinate referrals and communicate with external providers Support other administrative duties as assigned Ensure reception area is ready for each working day and open the facility for business each day. Secure the building at the close of each business day. High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience Experience in a healthcare setting preferred Proficiency in MS Office Knowledge of medical terminology Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar preferred)
