The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon. Position Summary:
This position assists with procurement and management of vaccines and other essential supplies and ensures that all vaccines and other supplies are strictly handled according to State of Alaska Immunization Program and YKHC procedures for village clinics, SRCs, and the hospital. The technician must have the ability to pay close attention to details and meet deadlines, and to maintain patient confidentiality. This position requires working at a both a high level of independence and with an immunization team in small office setting.
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED. Two years college preferred.. Preferred experience in health education, inventory management, business management minimum 2 years. Experience working in rural, multi-cultural setting. Valid driver's license required. Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Wifi and Log Tag temperature monitoring and Log Tag tracking equipment for shipping, refrigerators and freezers as required by State of Alaska Immunization Program.
Equipment/Tools:
Proficiency in MS Office software including WORD, PPT and EXCEL required. Must be able to comfortably use basic office equipment (i.e., computers, multi-line telephone, fax machine, etc). Must be proficient with specific areas related to this position of the State of Alaska electronic database VacTrAK within 1 month of hire. Must be proficient in State of Alaska Immunization Program vaccine handling within 1 month of hire

LANGUAGE SKILLS
: Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions. o
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required. Basic algebraic skills or experience with Excel formulas required. o
REASONING ABILITY
: Ability to apply critical thinking to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. o
PEOPLE SKILLS
: Ability to listen, communicate and elate to others on a professional level including problem-solving, willingness to work together with others toward department and corporate goals.
