Description:
Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C., is one of the areas largest orthopedic practices with office locations throughout greater Hartford. Our growing practice is currently seeking a Referrals Queue Facilitator with Epic experience to join our team in our Glastonbury, Connecticut location. Working in a call-center environment, this position is responsible for contacting referred patients and scheduling appointments. This position will also perform functions necessary to support patient care and administration and provide backup to the Same Day Scheduler. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality and great phone demeanor.
Responsibilities include:
Efficiently and accurately schedules patient appointments, using information provided via fax, on-line, and Epic work queue referrals. Gathers important detailed patient information and makes appropriate decisions as to where and with whom to schedule the appointment. Answers patient questions and provides relevant information regarding appointments. Transcribes and scans referrals into Epic EMR system. Enters required demographic, referral, and insurance information. Works closely with MEAs to keep practices appraised of scheduling changes, add-ons, and cancellations. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with providers and MEAs. Performs other duties as necessary and requested by the supervisor. PM22
Requirements:
One to three years of related experience within the medical field in a private practice or hospital. Recent and relevant EMR experience. Ability to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach when interacting with patients, physicians, co-workers, and additional outside sources. Highly committed team player and proactive self-starter. Reliable and able to be flexible in a changing environment. Organized, detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to utilize a variety of office equipment. Medical terminology and anatomy experience a plus.
