Position Details:

Join Hartford Hospital's established and advancing Inpatient Procedure Team! This highly specialized role offers Advanced Practice Providers the opportunity to develop and refine their procedure skills within a collaborative, high-acuity medical environment. As an integral member of the Department of Surgery, APPs work closely with surgeons, hospitalists, APPs and multidisciplinary care teams to care for a variety of patients. Team members perform a wide range of bedside ultrasound-guided procedures, including paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, central venous catheter insertions, and fluid collection drainages. Team members also spend time in the outpatient setting seeing consults for soft tissue masses and performing excisions. This position is ideal for motivated Physician Assistants seeking procedural autonomy and ongoing skill advancement.

Open to Physician Assistants with at least three years of surgical or procedural experience

Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts. No overnights or major holidays. Premium differentials offered.

Physician Assistants Role Scope:

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients. In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Qualifications Requirements:

Licensure :

Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)

Training :

Certified or board-eligible

Physician Assistant Experience :

1+ years as a

Physician Assistant Preferred:
