Job Description

We are a busy, patient-centered medical office committed to providing high-quality care in a welcoming and efficient environment. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Front Desk Receptionist who is also comfortable assisting with basic clinical duties.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing front office operations while also supporting the physician and clinical staff with patient care tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and able to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in/check out patients in a courteous and professional manner. Answer multi-line phones and respond to patient inquiries. Schedule and confirm appointments. Verify insurance and collect copays. Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Process referrals, authorizations, and medical records requests. Room patients and prepare them for examination. Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit. Prepare and review charts prior to appointments (chart prep). Assist physician during exams and minor procedures as needed. Clean and stock exam rooms. Handle lab specimens and coordinate diagnostic testing. Provide patient education and follow-up instructions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical office experience preferred. Knowledge of EMR systems (experience with [insert system if applicable]). Familiarity with medical terminology. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work independently. Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Assistant or equivalent experience. Bilingual (if applicable). Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
